The End

By Jason Kerzinski

I was doing some thinking this evening. My mind went from one thought to another. I have been reading end-of-the-world literature. Iridium will rain down. I’m not sure if I will make my thirty-fourth birthday. It will happen in 2012, the Mayans say. Will there be a nuclear war? Dust clouds? How many nukes will it take to form a dust cloud that will wipe out the sun’s rays? Thirty or thirty-two? I’m leaning towards thirty. Men on the street corner will preach the Holy Spirit. Glory, glory hallelujah. Will we be wiped out like the dinosaurs? What were the testosterone levels in male T-Rexs? Was the lady T-Rex the dominant one? Did the father have to care for the young while mother hunted? What was her favorite meal before and after laying her egg? How did the mother call her children to tell them dinner was ready? Did the father call the children? The dust cloud will block out the sun’s rays. Scientists have put their heads together on this one. If there is no sun, plant life as we know it will cease to exist. Warm-blooded animals die. There will be no more reproduction. Sperm will freeze. Mothers will not become pregnant. What will remain? Will the insects be next in line?
