Secret

OK. Maybe my little secret is out. That girl Mandy that I went out with figured it out. She told everybody and they all put 2 and 2 together. Then they called me on it like a goddamn intervention. I told them I like men. Aunt Bernie was disgusted and left the room. She’d always had great plans for me. Maybe that was her secret and I found her out during that “family session”.

They all think they know me because of what they think about people like me, but I’m one step ahead. I can see that this is their big secret. They don’t know squat. As much as they think they know me, I will never tell them about that summer Jim and I spent together or the time I masturbated to a Brad Pitt movie. These are my own secrets and they will never know about these things.
