Poetry is Art…
Strokes of words in fluid thought,
Expressing what’s real and what’s not.
A watercolor sunset…
a feeling of once being there
where colors and memories harmonize
and imagination invokes a sunrise.
The emotional words and physics of space
collide and explode in our brains
we create.
Our thoughts sometimes heavy and opaque,
or translucent and layered
giving way to our fate.
We stipple our past over canvas,
then smooth the words over…
painting again
as they ryme and chime like a melody
and whisper the winds of time.
Like the meaning we give to our thoughts,
come from images that live our our hearts…
so the artist paints the color of words,
and a poet imparts impasto effects,
perfectly crafted and used to express
the texture of lives, their beauty, their cries.
And this is how a vision is rendered,
in the writer’s
minds eye.
