By John Kalpatrick
“Have You?”
Have you ever listened, have you
ever heard,
As trees bend low and sigh?
Have you ever paused, and watched
a bird
Swiftly passing by?
Have you ever climbed, with fixed
determination
Up a gnarled mountain?
Have you ever sipped, ‘pon an
inclination,
From a shaded fountain?
Have you ever gazed, quietly
far away
‘Cross a rolling plain?
Have you ever danced, as in
a happy play,
To the music of the rain?
Have you ever loved, have you
ever cried,
In a deep mysterious wood?
Have you ever lived, have you
really tried;
Would you with me if we could?

I have read ‘Have you?”, very sweet, I can almost sing this as I read it.
I like it.
