Flask and pen when I decided to drive

byZQ

Lady luck was in the back seat
I could see in the mirror
Her half shut eyes
Half asleep, half alive;
But
I drove any way.
I stop at the mortician
To see if anyone needed a ride.
The beds were all empty
Except the prints of the ghosts
And the mortician sad smile.
So…I drove away.
This time I stopped at the bar
Where the spirits seduce you,
But, they only go so far.
Knowing all this
And lady luck in the car
I decided to drive her home.
So…behind the wheel I drove
It really isn’t that far.
Then I passed the circus.
Who could drive by?
With money in my wallet
And a cone of cotton candy
I saw my self
Watching all the clowns go by.
I apologized to lady luck
For another unscheduled stop
And again I began to drive.
Though space and time I traveled
Until the shuttle I was driving
Completely unraveled.
They say when I was found
With half shut eyes
In the arms of lady luck,
I was half asleep
And half alive.
