Naomi Taylor
I am mostly a stay at home mom who works part-time jobs here and there. My two children have finally reached an age where I can lock myself in a room and do what I love (and sometimes hate!), writing, of course. I am 35 and live a little south of Seattle, WA. I have written fiction since I was young but have never been able to devote the time I would like to it until recently. My favorite pastime since I was young is to lose myself in a great book. My dream is to someday provide that escape for others.

Tina Vaden
“Raised on Western shores in the city of lost angels, currently feeling lost amidst sky scrapers and strangers that seldom sleep. My little mind, full of nooks and crannies, takes me for some of the most wild rides (there are reasons why it is both a best friend and great foe), and these hands of mine hate me for the manic sprees of word producing fury I force on them.”
Joshua J. VanAuken
I am 25. Raised in Upstate NY. Currently residing in Denver, CO. I am an educator and strive for equality through developing literacy in under privileged youth. I consider my time spent teaching in BedStuy,
Brooklyn the most eye opening experience of my young life; a place where homelessness and hunger was seen and felt, not simply discussed and pondered.
I am inspired by Margarte Angelou and other voices that have a strong sense of “lived” injustice. I strive for my writing to be heard and understood on multiple levels, first in images and then in feeling.
Megan Veit
A Texas transplant new to the beautiful Easy Bay California area, Megan Veit was a little disappointed when she realized after her first earthquake experience that they are over before you even know they have begun (well, that’s if you’re lucky). Earthquakes quickly lost their appeal, so now she focuses her energy on writing, yoga, making new friends, and absorbing all of the culture and creativity that San Francisco has to offer.

Theresa Ward
Theresa Ward was born and raised in Sacramento, California, where she spent her time penning mystery stories and writing and directing her own one-act plays. These plays, shorts, poems and unfinished novels followed her into film school at the University of California, Santa Cruz where she fell in love with screenwriting, an affair that has turned into one hell of a romance. Theresa currently works as a freelance writer in Los Angeles, specializing in commercial treatments, script coverage/doctoring, Internet virals and screenwriting. When she’s not writing, her time is spent traveling, daydreaming and singing in the shower.
Deborah Webb
I live with my husband, my two children (ages 10 and 12), and Molly the dog. We are all in a small town in Massachusetts, and during the school year I am a middle school special education teacher. I enjoy vacationing on the lake, watching movies, reading and am in the process of convincing myself I love working out as well. This is my first attempt at writing, and am quite excited to be part of the Flask and Pen community.
Michael Weems…
… is a proud Yankee and graduate of Lyndon State College in Vermont with a BS in Psychology. Since migrating away from the below zero temperatures he’s become a NYC based playwright, writer, and actor where he dwells with his gorgeous fiancé, overstuffed dvd and book shelves, and soon his baby son. His play Burden Me was produced this past March for Phare Play Productions and his full length Fragments was the only play selected for a full staged reading at Festival 56 this upcoming August. He divides his free time between a burgeoning gambling addiction and getting ridiculously lost in Central Park.
K.A. Wetherbee
I grew up in Southern NH and majored in Psychology at a Private College in MA, on the coast. I first started writing poetry and short stories and essays at 16, and my love for writing only grew by the time I got to College. I took every writing/English class I could (sometimes several times for no additional credit). It was there that I did an internship at a small local textbook publisher. I’ve been in books/publishing ever since (11 years). I’ve kept my writings confined to college journals up until now and have not submitted anything to anyone since the age of the internet.
ZQ
Born in Pinardville NH. Attended St. Peter’s on Kelly street. Taken down south to learn my manners and my bayou roots (later to find out it’s not bayou its kanuck). Returned to New England after a tour from many places, including cities, between here and there (my Step-Father was an Encyclopedia Britannia salesman). I was always telling stories especially to my sister Pricilla and Michella. Then we all left home.
That’s when I learned to ridge run unregistered cars without a license and write without fear of the “Man” and without fear of the “woman”.
In my travels I have taught, wrote and performed in experimental theater.
Have earned degrees even.
Now, believe it or not, I am 60+. I am a retired CEO. (You know I couldn’t make a living with the latter). I live in ZoralinQ NH in the mist of where the rivers make the lakes and where we live free or die.
