Warren McPherson

Warren McPherson is a native Oregonian living in Denver. He has been writing fiction since he was five years old, when he started up a short lived, two story serial titled “Detective Warren”, complete with illustrations. It was well received by his grandmother, who was pretty much the only person to read it. Since then he has been trying to get more wide spread recognition in the literary world. Steven Mendel

I am a licensed psychologist in private practice in New York City and started writing after the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. Married for thirty-four years, I am the father of two and the grandfather of one.

I have published four short stories: “A Man and a Mouse” in Espresso Fiction March 13, 2007 “Do you believe in Miracles?” in the New Authors Journal Fall 2004 and “Breaking and Entering” also in the New Authors Journal Winter 2006. Most recently my story, “Shopping” has been published in the March/April 2008 issue of Farm House magazine.

I have also published three essays; a social commentary about Michael Jackson, “Never can say goodbye” in New York Trend Summer 2005 and a travel essay about Japan, “Thank you” in the Foreign Service Journal, October 2005. The most recently published non-fiction piece is a political analysis of the situation in “Tibet, Visiting a dying culture” in intravelmag.com September-October 2007.

Sue Menon

Sue Menon is a law student whose hobbies right now are reading and carrying heavy books. She would like to thank four folks who make everything possible. Eric Morder

Eric is still young, but feeling older than ever, a ripe 34, older than Christ (believe he was 33?) He works when he has to; much of his free time goes into poem writing and what not, he’s just obsessed with doing it right. Jessie Ann Morrison

I am currently a first year graduate student in Fiction Writing at Columbia College, Chicago.  During my time at Columbia I have had the honor of receiving the departmental merit award, and my first story is scheduled to be published this spring in Ghostfactory, a literary magazine created by a friend in my department.  Additionally, I have four years experience teaching English at the high school level, in courses of literature, grammar, and writing.

I graduated from the University of Washington in 2007 with a BA in English Literature and a minor in Swedish. I was an Alpha Xi Delta for all four years of college at the UW. During school I also worked at an after school program. Currently I am a Student Services Assistant for the University of Phoenix in Bellevue in the morning, and I nanny for two wonderful girls in the afternoon in Seattle where I live.

Laura Mortimer

Laura grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, where she faithfully attended church every Sunday morning (and Wednesday evening), learned to play classical music on the piano and to always wait until the last person finished eating to remove the dishes from the table. Much to her mother’s dismay, Laura insisted on climbing trees, asking frustrating questions, and eventually attending Amherst College, in the great heathen-land of Massachusetts. After four years she decided Yankees were too crotchety, so she moved to Denver, where everyone is bizarrely happy all the time. Laura enjoys running, writing, culture shock, and New Belgium’s Trippel Ale.

Alivian Muir

Alivian Muir violently entered the universe during a cataclysmic chess match between Shiva and Shakti. Currently, he is roaming the United States in his sheepskin jacket with a single, flaming quandary: “Am I an avatar, an animal, or something in between?”

Graham Murray

I mainly write short stories for the amusement and entertainment of friends and family. I also wrote a fantasy/humor novel last year entitled “The Guardian of Azurin”, but have not pursued having this published. I may simply place it on my website for interested parties to read.

Suzanne Nielsen

Suzanne Nielsen, a native of St. Paul, Minnesota, teaches writing at Metropolitan State University. Her poetry, fiction and essays appear in literary journals nationally and internationally; some of these include The Comstock Review, The Copperfield Review, mid-America Poetry Review, Foliate Oak, Identity Theory, The Pedestal, Word Riot and 580 Split. So’ham Books released her first collection of poetry titled “East of the River,” in December 2005, a collection of short fiction titled “The Moon Behind the 8-Ball & Other Stories,” in 2007, and will release her new collection of poetry titled “I Thought You Should Know,” in 2008. Ngozi Nwabineli

Although fairly new to the freelance writing scene, Ngozi Nwabineli has been writing for over 10 years having gained a taste for it in high school whilst studying English. Although unpublished, she has written a wide range of fictional (including a series of linked short stories called “Sugar and Spice”) and nonfictional pieces ranging from short stories to articles. She has been recently been appointed as a writer for The African (www.africanmag.org) and contributes to several blogging sites providing a variety of written work. I am 24 years old, from Allentown, Pennsylvania, now living in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. My roommate has a real job as a teacher, and I work a retail job because I am terrified I will loose that creative flare of mine in a nine-five environment. Or, because I dropped out of college. One of the two. I moved to Brooklyn to be with my girlfriend. We broke up a couple days before I moved in. So, that was pretty sweet. My life makes me want to nap a lot, but writing seems a more productive thing to do. This sounds bad. In case my mom reads this; I’m not depressed.

Tiffany O’Neill

Kat Rosa, a Bay Area native, studied literature at University of California, Davis and recently completed an English Literature Master’s degree at San Francisco State University. Dagny Roth

Dagny is a vagabond having lived in over 9 states including 23 moves! A fine arts/fiction writing major at Columbia College in Chicago and a recent transplant to the Sunshine State of Florida. Dagny has spent her entire life writing. From the age of eight she kept a journal detailing the nuances of childhood. Her interests span the realm of many artistic endeavors, including: Theater/Acting, Modern Dance where she studied in Italy, Classical Music/Voice, Poetry and Literature. Georgia Rushing

Georgia is a twenty one year old student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe where her major is English. Georgia is the author of three short stories entitled “Memory House,” “When the Ants Go Marching,” and her personal favorite “Bless the Child.” Her writings reflect her experiences of growing up in a small, unknown town in Northeast Louisiana called Lake Providence.

Eric Ruth, 36, is an aspiring professional writer, author, and poet from suburban Philadelphia; specifically a town called Phoenixville, PA. Sage, New York native, grew up in Southern New Jersey, earning her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Rutgers University and master’s degree in Public Administration from Rutgers Graduate School.

Laura Schultz is a freelance writer as well as President and Primary Psychotherapist of “Counseling at Your Service”. Swoop began writing short stories in high school. A creative writing course, while attending college, forced him to truly examine his love for expressing himself through his writings.
