Risky Business

Is it Risky Business to assume that all my credit cards will be paid off by summer? Is it Risky Business to assume that with a new president he will change everything? One man cannot, and should not have to change 8 years of errors from someone else. Is it Risky Business to assume that your sixteen year old will finally get off his lazy duff and hand in his homework and not receive a 5 week report stating; failing, doesn’t hand in homework. Yes, those are all Risky and they are part of my business.

It seems that everything we do today is considered to be Risky. Should I buy a new puppy and hope and pray that this dog will not be aggressive in nature as my previous one? Should I even think about getting a new job that may pay better then this one, when I’ve been at this one for four years? Risky. Do I allow my beautiful daughter who is 14, smart and has her whole life ahead of her, to date a young boy who is suffering from Cystic Fibrosis?

We all live in a Risky world and deal with risky business. It’s how we handle these situations that make us both different and unique. To say that I think my daughter should date this young man, who treats her with respect and actually listens to her, is risky. Everything we do is risky. We get up in the morning and pray that the new day will bring us joy, happiness, money and great fullfillment. Getting into our cars and driving to work would be considered Risky Business. Look what happened to those poor people on their way home from work, when that dreadful bridge collapsed. Risky, Risky, Risky.

But, the good news is, everyday that we move along with the rest of world, we are all taking great risks to give ourselves the great American Dream, we take risks and dare to do new things that will bring us happiness, and joy. So, I for one will do what I do everyday, take a chance, get up and go to work and take a risk that today will be different. I will find that fulfillment I am looking for and hope and pray that when something risky comes my way, I’ll deal with it in a very calm business way.
